Roles and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be a seasoned business development professional with extensive experience in the Defense Industry, including experience working on programs of record.
The candidate will help develop and execute broad organizational strategic plans as well as leading and executing specific program captures.
The candidate will work with line management and technical staff to develop technology maturation roadmaps and plans that enable technology transition from research and development programs to formal acquisition programs of record.
The primary focus is on intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems to include passive and active EO/IR sensors, automatic target recognition/combat identification systems, synthetic aperture radar systems, and ISR analysis and exploitation systems.
The successful candidate will intimately understand the acquisition lifecycle for ISR systems and be able to execute program captures throughout this lifecycle with particular focus on transitioning systems from research and development phases through concept development, prototyping, and engineering and manufacturing development phases. Understanding and guiding the maturation of technologies through technology readiness levels, particularly levels 6-9, will be an important consideration for this position.
Developing and executing capture plans during all phases, from early opportunity qualification and development through proposal submission is another important component for this position.
Up to 25% travel required.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering/technical discipline with at least 15 years’ relevant experience
Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
Extensive Industry experience working on programs of record and business development activities in support of US Air Force programs
Proven capture and proposal experience, preferably for US Air Force programs and including programs valued at $100M+
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Technical expertise and experience in the ISR domain
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration
Master’s Degree
Extensive experience and contacts with major aerospace original equipment manufacturers such as Lockheed-Martin, Northrop-Grumman, and others
Formal capture and proposal writing training (e.g., Shipley Associates)
Experience managing/developing internal research and development activities
Experience developing and managing marketing and bid and proposal budgets
Experience and comfort interfacing at all organization levels – from executive management to working level project managers and engineers
