Jobs: Project Manager for Space Projects, OHB System (Germany)

For immediate commencement of employment, the Earth Observation Department at OHB System AG in Oberpfaffenhofen is looking for a Project Manager.

 

Your Tasks

Implement project management procedures in accordance with the project management plan
Coordinate, direct, control and monitor industrial organization-wide the overall project objectives
Establish and maintain an effective project management organization
Form and implement the industrial organization
Direct the individual project office functions to control all technical and resources of the contractual efforts
Evaluate the programme performance, determine any inadequacies and implement corrective actions
Provide programme status information to customer and own company’s line management and implement both their agreed actions
Support subcontractor evaluation and selection
Implement OHBs risk management process in the project and perform regular risk assessment within the project team, implement risk mitigation actions

Your Qualifications

Degree in aerospace engineering, physics or a comparable qualification

Solid project engineering and task management experience in the space domain, including knowledge of budgeting, cost and schedule management and risk analysis
Strong leadership capabilities and the capacity to apply analytical and sound judgement in resolving problems
Strong negotiation skills

Very good English skills, both written and spoken, German language requested over the medium-term

Several years of professional experience in space industry as project manager or in a leading technical position in a phase C/D satellite program

Optional Skills
Experience within the ESA environment
