Specializing in leading-edge manned and unmanned aircraft control and landing systems, SNC’s Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management business area designs and develops surface and airborne radars, 3-dimensional imaging radars, manned and unmanned aircraft flight control systems, GPS navigation systems, support avionics, mobile Air Traffic Control shelters and related products. This business area is continuing to grow in support of its customers and seeks qualified and highly motivated individuals to join our team in Spark, NV.
The Associate Program Manager (APM) for Navigation and Landing Systems (NLS) will work with seasoned NLS personnel in the development and upgrades of legacy radar systems and radar subsystems, integration of systems with radar systems, development of advanced millimeter wave radar based landing systems, integration of GPS and radar systems, and pursuit of other advanced technologies for navigation and landing systems. Responsible for supporting the management of all aspects of cost, schedule, and performance for their assigned programs, in accordance with the approved SNC processes.
APMs are responsible in supporting Program Managers in achieving and maintaining contract execution, product delivery, and customer satisfaction.
Candidates should have experience with the following to the degree possible:
a. Responsible to coordinate the centralized planning, direction, and control required to meet the cost, schedule, and performance goals throughout the life-cycle of their assigned programs within a Defense/Aerospace environment.
b. Support Program Manager in day-to-day management of assigned programs within an EVMS environment.
c. Ensure a continuous line of communication is kept open with the appropriate internal and external customer representatives to maintain a high level of program status awareness, provide timely recognition and resolution of problems.
d. Assist in identifying the staffing/resource needs for assigned and projected programs to ensure adequate staffing for successful program completion
e. Perform Risk Analysis to ensure successful program execution.
f. Assist in the development of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) compliant proposals.
g. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager/Director of Programs
h. Assists in ensuring compliance with approved Corporate and AS9100 Policies and Processes
Candidate must have the following experience or capabilities:
a. Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, math, or physics or related field.
b. At least 3 years of experience in the defense or aerospace industry with proven program management experience.
d. Excellent written and oral communication skills and proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Project.
e. Knowledge and use of Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
f. Willing to travel for the purposes of design or marketing presentations, field testing and interaction with customers and subcontractors.
f. U.S. citizen and must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
g. Knowledge of GPS and Radar systems a plus.
