Headquartered in Manassas, VA, Aurora operates production plants in Bridgeport, WV and Columbus, MS. The company also has a Research and Development Center in Cambridge, MA, and a recently opened office in Mountain View, CA.

Job Qualifications:

The Director of Communications (Solar Programs) is responsible for developing and delivering the organization’s internal and external communications related to the companies solar program efforts.  Writes and delivers press releases and handles all communication sent to the public both written and oral.  Responsible for company branding and messaging.

Specific Responsibilities:

Develop corporate messaging and branding for internal and external communications.  The Director of Communications is responsible for writing press releases, speeches, marketing material, and content for company intranet and website.  May be called upon to be a spokesperson for the company.  Work with business development, proposal organization and senior executives to craft messaging and marketing campaigns.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Social media tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work with others at all levels both inside and outside the organization.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA in communications, marketing, public relations or equivalent with a minimum of 5to 6 years professional experience in the communications field.  Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus.  Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder).
